Product: Cyclone — cross-platform link saver (browser extension, mobile, and desktop apps)

1. Summary

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Cyclone — the apps, browser extension, and related services that let you save links, capture page previews, organize collections, and search your library across devices. By creating an account or using Cyclone, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Cyclone.

This is a plain-language summary of the agreement; the sections below control.

2. Who we are

Cyclone Apps ("Cyclone," "we," "us") provides the service. For questions about these Terms, contact us at cyclone@proton.me.

3. Eligibility and accounts

• You must be able to form a binding contract to use Cyclone, and old enough to do so in your jurisdiction (see the Children section of our Privacy Policy).
• If you use Cyclone on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
• You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
• You sign in with an email and password or with Google or GitHub via our authentication provider (Supabase Auth).

4. The service

Cyclone lets you:

• Save links from your browser, phone, and desktop.
• Generate preview images and short AI-written summaries of the pages you save.
• Organize links into collections with tags and notes.
• Search your library, including search powered by AI-generated summaries and embeddings.
• Sync your library across your devices, with offline-first local caching.

Cyclone is offline-first: some features work without a connection and reconcile when you reconnect.

5. Your content

• You own your content. You retain ownership of the links, titles, descriptions, tags, notes, and collections you create ("Your Content").
• License to operate the service. You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to store, process, transmit, and display Your Content solely to provide and improve the service for you — for example, fetching the pages you save to build preview images, summaries, and search embeddings, and syncing Your Content across your devices.
• Derived data. To enrich saved links we generate preview images, extracted text, summaries, and vector embeddings as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not retain the original full page HTML as a stored document.
• Responsibility. You are responsible for Your Content and for ensuring you have the rights to save and process the pages and material you add to Cyclone.

6. Acceptable use

When using Cyclone, you agree not to:

• Break the law or infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of others;
• Save, store, or distribute malicious, abusive, or unlawful content;
• Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, decompile, or gain unauthorized access to the service or its infrastructure;
• Use automated means to overload, scrape, or abuse the service beyond normal individual use;
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the service without our permission.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that create risk or legal exposure for us or other users.

7. Third-party services

Cyclone relies on third-party sub-processors (for example, Supabase, Cloudflare, Vercel, and OAuth providers) to operate. Your use of links you save and of pages those links point to is also subject to the terms and policies of those third parties. We are not responsible for third-party websites or services.

8. Service availability and changes

We work to keep Cyclone available and reliable, but the service is provided on an "as available" basis. We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time; material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, in-app notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

9. Termination

• You may stop using Cyclone and delete your account at any time from within the app.
• We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, or to protect the service, other users, or comply with the law.
• On termination, your right to use the service ends. Deletion of Your Content follows the retention practices described in our Privacy Policy; backups and provider-side logs may persist for a limited period before rotation.

10. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cyclone is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that preview images, summaries, or search results will be accurate or complete. Keep your own copies of anything you can't afford to lose.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cyclone and its providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you have paid us, if any, for the service in the 12 months before the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cyclone and its providers from claims, damages, and expenses arising out of Your Content or your misuse of the service or violation of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date below reflects the current version. If we make material changes, we will provide notice as required by law.
